The Kallangur Sport Program offers a comprehensive pathway for students to develop their sporting skills through practice, training, and participation in competitions at multiple levels, from school to national events.
Kallangur Carnivals
Each year, students have the chance to represent their house teams—Orion, Pegasus, Phoenix, and Scorpius—in spirited swimming, cross-country, and athletics carnivals. These events are not only enjoyable but also serve as selection trials for students aiming to compete in the Pine Rivers District teams.
Interschool Sport
For Years 4, 5, and 6, interschool sports are held in Terms 2 and 3. Students who choose to participate compete in various sports over three Fridays against other primary schools in the Pine Rivers District. Transportation is provided via school buses, and parental permission and payment of a sports fee are required.
Some of the sports offered include:
- Netball (girls)
- Soccer (boys)
- League Tag (boys and girls)
- Dodgeball (boys and girls)
The Friday Electives Program is offered to students in Years 3, 4, 5, and 6, allowing individuals to dedicate time each week to pursue sports and other interests. This program gives students the opportunity to participate in interschool competitions and explore various physical activities and hobbies, including dodgeball, Taekwondo, dance, touch football, bike riding, and many more exciting experiences.
